It is 3500BC and I am in Sumer where Mesopotamia is located. The problems settling in Sumer are water and food shortage. The water is a problem because when it rains water will make floods. Mesopotamia has two rivers, Euphrates and the Tigris rivers overflowing the land. Everytime it rains it floods. The farmers here in Sumer face a lot of challenges. One of the biggest problems is the water supply. During the Spring, rain and melted snow from the mountains flows into the two rivers and floods the crops.
In the farm there is not enough land to grow crops to make food. We need food to live or else we will die without food. Food is the second most important. Water is the first most important. In the Spring, the rivers flood bringing enough water for the crops. Perhaps the farms could be built where the land floods.
As you can see living in Mesopotamia is hard. It is hard because we loose water because of the floods in Mesopotamia. Also, we loose water because we don' t have ways to control it. Food shortage is another problem because we do not have too much land to grow crops.
